STEVEN GILROY

CEO Toolkits Ltd.

Following 40+ years in roles that included Founder, CEO, MD, General Manager, and International VP Steve now spends his time as a Non-Exec Director, Board Facilitator, Scaling Up Coach, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor, helping business leaders and their executive teams achieve growth goals.

 

Steve has led businesses ranging in size from start-up through to £100m and has been involved in a wide range of businesses, from early-stage technology firms to being a senior executive for several global organisations. Steve is a forward-looking visionary and a master of practical strategy execution. He has initiated and led significant change, growth, acquisition and exit programmes and has a track record for implementing crystal-clear business plans that achieve significant and sustainable growth.


Steve’s first experience in business was at the age of 15 at school, when he bought cassette tapes and 35mm film in bulk, re-packaged them and sold them on to his school mates! That was before the age of PCs, the internet etc. At 21 he started his first business producing technical documentation and training packages for the IT and Process Control industries in the UK, Middle East and Europe. That eventually led him into the IT Training business, designing and running workshops across a range of technologies, both in his own business and for several global IT vendors around the world.

The next 30+ years involved roles as Owner, CEO, MD, General Manager and Vice President; working on a global basis and clocking up several million air miles. During that time Steve was lucky enough to have learned and executed a wide variety of leadership and growth tools, in many different market sectors and business cultures. Over the years he has completed several acquisitions, a few exits, numerous international partnerships as well as the usual growth and change projects that we all encounter over time.

 

Steve’s background in designing training materials and facilitating business growth workshops has enabled him to build up an extensive library of growth techniques, tools and templates in workshop, keynote and coaching formats - which he has delivered to clients around the world. He facilitates sessions in the areas of scaling up, strategic planning, sales process design, marketing strategy, value proposition and business model optimisation. He works alongside owners, Boards, CEOs and senior leadership teams; increasing their effectiveness and helping them to scale a business with greater clarity and purpose. He has a reputation for creating inspiring visions and delivering very practical plans that achieve consistent growth.
